Meet our creative and talented extended CHP family

Made up of current parents, the board brings a range of perspectives, skills, and experiences to the life of the school.

From supporting events and fundraising to contributing to strategic planning and school initiatives, board members help ensure CHP continues to thrive for future generations of children and families.

Charlotte Wessell

  • Charlotte is mom to Wren - an enthusiastic Froglet in the 4s - and Lee, proud CHP alumna. This is her fourth year on the Board and second as President. In her day job, she works in higher education advancement.

Abby Glenn

  • Abby is mom to alum Teddy, current CHP-er Frances, and future CHP-er Cornelia! Her favorite part about CHP is the community of families she’s met and the amazing teachers that care so much about their classes. Each year at CHP is unique and special. Before becoming a mom, Abby was a teacher at elementary schools in NYC and London.

Rachel Arbesfeld Wolpert

  • Rachel is the mom of two daughters—Emma, a 2nd grader at PS 58, and Molly, in the 4s at CHP. This is her second year in the CHP community. Rachel worked for 16 years as a special education teacher and lower school math specialist at the Stephen Gaynor School. She recently co-founded Brooklyn Play 2 Learn in Carroll Gardens, working to inspire young minds through sensory play and games to instill a lifelong love of math.

Chloe Houston

  • Chloe has two kids at CHP this year. Egan is in his third year at CHP and is a 4s Frog this year and Ruby is FINALLY at CHP as a 2s Avocado. Chloe started her career in special education as a New York City Teaching Fellow almost 20 years ago. She is now the Middle and Upper School Math Department Head at Packer Collegiate Institute.

Kristie Weber

  • Kristie is mom to Theo (CHP 4s) and Ethan (future CHP 2s). She lives in Carroll Gardens with her husband Eric and two bonus teenage daughters Ryan and Skyler. Before becoming a full time mom and CEO of the family, Kristie worked in supply chain management in the apparel industry and as a management consultant where she gained valuable strategy, leadership, & organization skills. In her “spare” time you can find her in a yoga pose, cooking, or outside in nature.

Bollie Shiflett

  • Bollie is mom to daughters, Colby- a proud CHP Axolotol, and Nell, a future CHP-er, as well as a son, Mac- an alum who misses CHP from his new school PS 58!  While her and her husband, Charlie, are Virginians, they have loved living in the Cobble Hill/Carrol Gardens neighborhood since 2019. Bollie has worked in Credit Sales at Citigroup for nearly 15 years.

Georgie Trasenster

  • Georgie is Mom to current CHP attendees Juno in the 4s, and Fen in the 2s.

    She is originally from the UK but grew up in several different countries, which has shaped her appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. A trained graphic designer, Georgie previously worked at a leading creative communications agency in London before pausing to be a full-time caregiver to her daughters here in Brooklyn. Her design background has given her valuable skills in visual storytelling and creative problem-solving which she hopes to bring to the board.

Lilibeth Chang

  • Lilibeth lives in Carroll Gardens and is mom to Arabella who is in the 2's program and CHP alum, Sebastian. She an  Early Childhood Educator with a focus on Special Education. She is currently an educational director at Chang Learning, a community-based tutoring center and a licensed DOE contractor.  Prior to becoming a teacher, Lilibeth worked on the educational content for Sesame Street Workshop.

Kathleen Passantino

  • Kathleen is a mom of two, Abby (4 and currently enrolled at CHP) and James (7, a proud CHP alum). Before becoming a full-time mom, she worked in development for a large non-profit helping kids and families in New York. Kathleen loves our neighborhood and this school and is passionate about play-based learning. This is her first year on the board and she is excited to contribute her skills and enthusiasm to a school community that has become such an important part of her family.

Kit Krugman

  • Kit is mom to Luca (CHP 4s) and Delilah (future CHP 2s). She lives with her husband Brian in Columbia Street Waterfront District. She now leads the People & Culture team at a NY-based tech company called Foursquare, but her first job ever was as an arts specialist at a K-12 international school in Costa Rica. Kit’s favorite activities outside of hanging with Luca & Delilah are painting, reading fantasy & sci-fi, eating well and doing yoga.

Whitney Shubert

  • Whitney Schubert is mom to CHP alum Flora Weber and her little brother Izzy, who is in this year’s 3s program. This is Whitney’s second year on the board after two years of assisting with the planning and execution of the annual CHP Silent Auction. With nearly 25 years in wine importation, distribution, and event management, she has coordinated countless wine tastings, seminars, dinners and travels in New York, France and her native state of Oregon.  Contact: fundraising@cobblehillplayschool.com.

Melissa Maller-Stein

  • Melissa lives in Cobble Hill with her wife and their three children -- recent CHP alum, Mason, future CHP-er Liv, and Dylan who is in the 3s this year! Melissa has a background in social work and leads customer success at a small social enterprise.
