Welcome to Fours
In Fours, children bring greater confidence, independence, and social awareness to the classroom. They are ready to pursue questions over longer periods, contribute their own ideas, negotiate with peers, and take increasing responsibility for the routines and relationships that shape the group.
Through play, conversation, investigation, and the arts, teachers help children make connections, test ideas, and express their thinking in increasingly complex ways, while preserving the curiosity and joy that drive early learning.
1:6 teacher-child ratio
Our low teacher-to-child ratio gives teachers the time to support each child while encouraging the greater independence, collaboration, and self-direction that develop in Fours.
Child-led learning
Children take increasing ownership of their learning, bringing their questions and ideas into longer investigations, collaborative projects, and everyday classroom experiences.
Process-focused
Children are encouraged to test ideas, solve problems, make changes, and try different approaches, developing confidence in the process of thinking and creating rather than focusing on a single outcome.
A day in Fours

Children settle into the classroom, reconnect with friends and teachers, and choose from familiar materials and activities as the day begins.

The class comes together to share ideas, revisit ongoing investigations, make plans, and contribute to the conversations and routines that shape the day.

Children develop ideas through projects, open-ended play, building, literacy, science, art, music, movement, and drama, with teachers helping them make connections and extend their thinking.

Outdoor play gives children space to move, take appropriate risks, invent games, negotiate with friends, and explore the world beyond the classroom.

Children gather for lunch, taking increasing responsibility for everyday routines while enjoying conversation with friends. Children enrolled in the morning schedule then dismiss for the day.

Full-day children have time to rest, look at books, or take part in quieter activities before returning to the afternoon.

The afternoon offers another period for projects, collaborative play, specialist experiences, and following ideas that have developed throughout the day.

Children come together for an afternoon snack before wrapping up their work, reflecting on the day, and transitioning home.
